Forthcoming Evening Course on Loss at St. Luke’s Home

The six Tuesday evening courses, commencing on 20th September, covers a broad spectrum on our experiences of the loss journey. The course is not geared for those recently bereaved and would be suitable for youth leaders, teachers or those in your parish who would have an interest in supporting the bereaved.
In November a similar short course in Basic Listening Skills will be run. Of late the Education Centre are now running courses beyond our initial scope of Care of the Older Person. Courses in Fire Safety and First Aid (for both Adult and Paediatric settings) are now available. All details are on the website www.stlukeshome.ie Also of interest is a new Course which will be offered to family members who care for their elderly loved one at home. The course will run on Saturdays and alternatively over two evenings. Once dates are established I will send on details. Contact Bruce Pierce for further information.

FOR THE ATTENTION OF ALL RELIGIOUS COMMUNITIES

We are writing to ask you to assist us in publicising a charity event that is being held in Cork City Hall in September in aid of the St Vincent de Paul, Cork. Norma Smurfit’s “Spring Clean for Charity Sale” is taking place in City Hall on Sept 24th in aid of St Vincent de Paul, Cork. The event takes the format of a car boot sale – without the cars! Volunteers are asked to take a stall, clear out their unwanted belongings and sell them on the day to raise money.

There is no charge for taking a stall, but all money raised is in aid of the St Vincent De Paul, Cork. Further information is available on www.whitediamondevents.org or www.springcleanforcharity.ie You can also contact Dearbhla Meaney on 00 353 86 8221751 if you would like to be part of this fantastic event.
